The wheelchair-accessible restaurant with around 170 seats offers a cozy atmosphere for everyone. On the sun terrace, at the foot of the surrounding 3,000-meter peaks, Sunnbüel invites you to linger—with sweeping views of the Gasterntal valley and the Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch.

To recharge your batteries, we serve soups, rösti, regional specialties, or a slice of cake—ideal for a delicious break before the next stage begins.

Mountain restaurant Oeschinensee

Warmth, hospitality and a breathtaking view on the shores of Lake Oeschinen. The self-service restaurant at 1,500 m above sea level, which is now run by the fifth generation, looks back on a family tradition of over 130 years and has been owned by the Wandfluh family since it was built in 1892.

Indulge yourself and enjoy the lovingly prepared dishes. From delicious Swiss classics and specialties from the region to a touch of internationality.

Where is there a campground nearby?

There is a campsite in the village of Kandersteg with good infrastructure and public transport connections. There is also the Frutigresort Camping site in Frutigen.

Where can coaches and buses park?

Designated parking spaces for coaches are available at the Sunnbüel valley station. Advance booking at info@sunnbuel.ch is recommended.

Are there charging stations for electric cars?

Yes, there are four 11 kW charging stations at the Sunnbüel valley station.

How long does the cable car ride take?

The journey from the valley station to the Sunnbüel mountain station takes around 8 minutes and offers beautiful views.

How do I travel by public transport (train, bus)?

From Kandersteg station, the AFA bus line 241 takes you directly to the bus stop at the Sunnbüel valley station. Bus connections are coordinated with train arrivals.
