After rainfall and significant temperature fluctuations (day/night), there is an increased risk of rockfalls, wet avalanches, debris flows, and rockfalls. You can reach Kandersteg by train from Spiez and Brig. There is a bus (AFA) to Kandersteg from Adelboden and Frutigen. The walk from the train station takes approx. 10–15 minutes. From June to October, there is a local bus service from the train station to the valley station for every train arrival/departure.
Parking spaces cannot currently be reserved. Parking spaces in Kandersteg are limited at weekends and during the summer. From around 12 noon onwards, there may be no parking spaces available – we recommend arriving early. Parking spaces are available for guests at the valley station from 6 a.m. until the evening. Hikers heading to Oeschinensee should use the hiking parking spaces in the village (lower hiking parking rates). No vehicles are allowed to enter at night.
